Irrevocable Gifts

 photo irrevocable.png

Thank God it is Friday my friends! It has been a while since I have blogged but I am happy to write again.

The first blog I published spoke about the disappointment I faced when I failed a course my first semester of Nursing school, and how God was guiding and leading me through a time of doubt. There are times and seasons that are difficult for us all, but they serve a purpose: to help us change, to help us grow, to bring us closer to God, or lead us where God wants us to be. I am beyond blessed to say that I am repeating the course and doing very well, we have a couple more weeks left and our success or failure will determine whether we continue in the program or are kicked out of the program. Yes, the stress has been unbelievable and I have been struggling with spending time with God, my family and friends. Often I feel exhausted spiritually and mentally.

Nursing school is very hard and very demanding, but I am so grateful and happy to be experiencing it. There are times in which I feel guilty and doubt whether I am being a faithful servant and follower of Christ. I have even questioned my salvation. I find myself not wanting to read the bible and not wanting to attend church. Yes, I am struggling BUT I do not accept and will not entertain “thoughts” about my salvation not being real, or my purpose. This is exactly what the enemy wants. I have to constantly remind myself that God is the one who has placed me in nursing school, and in the season I am now. Only He knows the outcome, and He is in control.

What is causing you stress lately? What is distracting you, or taking most of your time? Are you seeking God?

I believe that we are in very hard times, I think often about everything going on in the world and feel like Jesus may be coming very soon. I believe these are trying times for believers all over the world and they will get harder, but I also know that Jesus is preparing His church for his return.

Friends, If you are going through a dry season, a time of doubt, depression, or just have questions… Please remember:

God has called you, you have heard his voice, if you feel Him tugging at you, if you are afraid and doubtful… read this verse:

For the Gifts and calling of God are IRREVOCABLE” Romans 11:29

There are a few things I would like to remind you of:

1. We are not Christians or saved based upon the things that we do or do not do. We are Christians because we have repented, confessed our sin to God, confessed that we are broken and need Him to lead us, and because we are new creations in Christ Jesus.

2. Yes, you will sin, yes you will doubt, yes you will fail because you are living in a broken, tough world full of sin and it is very hard. BUT that is why Christ became human, to understand our struggles, to defeat our sin, to defeat death, and to make a way for us to be saved forever.

3. When you fail or sin, ask God to give you a heart to repent, to help you change, to guard your minds and your hearts, and always confess your sin to Christ and he will help you.

4. Even if you are struggling, dragging, and going through a dry season: Do you think about God every day?, Do you talk to him constantly throughout the day? Listen to messages, worship music, or the word? You don’t have to be hard on your self, you do not have to read a chapter of the bible a day. Jesus wants YOU, HE wants your heart, He doesn’t want a religious attitude, instead he desires YOU.

5. Start today. Read a verse, or two, worship to some awesome praise music. Talk to God.

If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is.” 2 Tim. 2:13

6. Remind yourself of His promises, His truth, His word. I often have to talk to myself like this :

“I know Jesus called me by name, He set me apart from my mother’s womb, and even before I was born I believe my name was written in His book and nothing can erase it.”

If you have read this blog, and have no idea about what I am talking about. You are wondering what a relationship with God is, or who he is? If you feel like you want to get to know Him, repent of your sin, and follow him. If you feel like he is knocking at your door and you want to know that when you die, you will live in eternity with God. Feel free to repeat this prayer:

Father, I want to know who you are, I want to give my life to you, I confess you as Lord, and believe that Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead and is alive. I ask forgiveness of my sins, and I ask that you help me to follow you for the rest of my life. I thank you and I want to know you. In Jesus name, Amen

Congratulations on the best decision of your life! Make sure to get connected to a church that teaches the Holy Bible. God will guide you.

God Bless,

Dineiska Rodriguez

“With my Song I will Praise Him”

Worship Jesus.

When you are happy

When you are Anxious

When you are afraid and feel like you have no strength left

Worship Him in times of illness and grief

Sing the song your heart wants to CRY out to HIM.

If you feel like you “don’t know who God is”, ask Him to show you.

I personally find the most intimate times I spend with God are when I humble myself and get on my knees and just sing songs of worship, praise, hurt, surrender and love to Him. When I do, it is in these times that I feel most refreshed, revived, and comforted. He is always with us.

Oh and by the way, there is no right or wrong way of praising God. You can worship Him in your car, in the shower, at your house, at church… All that matters is your heart receiving His breath and hope.

If you feel like God is disappointed in you or mad, HE IS NOT, Just read this verse:

The Lord your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17 NKJV

Do you feel like Giving Up?

 photo temp_jesus_holding_man_227477895.jpg

This Picture is a perfect demonstration of how Jesus literally Carries us. Picture found on Google Images, not done by me.

Life has its ups and downs. There are times of victory and times of defeat. If you are a follower of Christ you know that Jesus never promised we would have an easy and happy life all the time. Instead, he said

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

We have the hope of Glory, an amazing Father who genuinely CARES for us. He listens to our cries, even when it seems like he is not “speaking” or seems absent. God knows everything you go through, even the deepest, darkest secrets and thoughts you have.

I write these words today to encourage a hurting heart, to bring HOPE to someone on the verge of giving up. I myself struggle with wanting to quit and give up on everything because this life and this world can be so painful. BUT when I find I am on the “verge of giving up” I HEAR HIS VOICE EVERY TIME telling me:

to hold on to HOPE,

to LOOK towards JESUS,

and to CAST ALL my anxieties and cares upon Him.

My Friends you are all so loved, adored, and desired by the Creator of the Universe, the Creator of your souls. Jesus defeated it all at the cross. We can fight from victory because if YOU believe Jesus is your Lord and savior, HE HIMSELF WILL FIGHT for YOU when you can’t.

Here are some thoughts to keep you “WALKING by FAITH and not by sight”:

1. God knew you before you were born, he MADE every part of you

You made my whole being;
you formed me in my mother’s body.
14 I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way.
What you have done is wonderful.
    I know this very well.
15 You saw my bones being formed
as I took shape in my mother’s body.
When I was put together there,
16 you saw my body as it was formed.
All the days planned for me
    were written in your book
before I was one day old.”

Psalm 139:13-16 NCV

2. We are not meant to carry burdens alone, give it all to Him, and find friends who will also walk through life with you

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Matthew 11:28-30 MSG

“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”

James 5:16 NLT

3. Pray about everything, praying is like TALKING to GOD. He listens, even if you want to vent and let out your frustrations with Him, it is okay, He understands.

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

Philippians 4:6 MSG

Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble,
and he saved them from their distress.
29 He calmed the storm to a whisper
    and stilled the waves.
30 What a blessing was that stillness
as he brought them safely into harbor!

Psalm 107: 28-30 NLT

4. Do you feel NUMB, hopeless, about to GIVE up? I did, and this is what GOD told me.

“… though he stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand. Psalm 37:24 NIV

“Get the word out. Teach all these things. And don’t let anyone put you down because you’re young. Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity. Stay at your post reading Scripture, giving counsel, teaching. And that special gift of ministry you were given when the leaders of the church laid hands on you and prayed—keep that dusted off and in use. Cultivate these things. Immerse yourself in them. The people will all see you mature right before their eyes! Keep a firm grasp on both your character and your teaching. Don’t be diverted. Just keep at it. Both you and those who hear you will experience salvation.”
1 Timothy 4:11-16 MSG

Every time I feel upset, or disappointed God reminds me that he created me with a purpose. He gently encourages me to keep getting up, to keep on going, My reward is in HIM. It is not ALWAYS ABOUT ME. He wants me to use my grief and my experiences to reach those who are going through similar issues. We all have a testimony. We have a Story to share. We have the living WORD OF GOD to transform, to heal, to comfort and mainly to SHARE with others. As we share His love, word, and WALK with others, He not only HEALS us but he also HEALS THEM.

Anyday is TACO day!

Who says Tacos are only for TUESDAYS?

Today I decided to host a Taco night for my In-Laws and I must say it was pretty successful. My In-Laws are so amazing, they have always been very welcoming and loving. I am truly grateful for them. So in honor of “Cinco de Mayo”, which is coming up this week, I planned a last-minute taco night for them.

Here are the ingredients and recipe:

Sour Cream

Mexican style salsa

Mexican blend shredded cheese

Hard taco shells

Turkey ground meat

Seasonings of your choice

Drinks of your choice

1. With the Tomatoes, Onions, Cilantro and lemon I made a Pico de Gallo. Chop up all of the tomatoes, onion, and cilantro and put in a bowl, or shallow dish together. Add lemon (juice), salt, pepper, and a bit of sazon completo to contents and stir together. Let it sit so it can absorb all the juices and seasoning.

2. Make the taco meat. I used turkey ground meat. I sautéed onions in a cooking pan and added the meat. Add seasonings of your choice to the meat and a bit of white wine, and salsa. Let cook and keep warm.

3. Warm up the Taco shells

4. I prepared the table. Put cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream, chips, and all the ingredients out so it could be a self-serve, fun and interactive dinner.

5. Enjoy!!!

What if I refuse to forgive?

In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can’t get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God’s part.” Matthew 6:14 MSG

Isn’t it so difficult to forgive people when they hurt you? In our human perspective and limited capacity it is very difficult to love and forgive someone when they have wronged you. We think, “How can I forgive when he/she cheated on me, or murdered my son, or lied to me?!” But, as believers and followers of Christ we are commanded to forgive others. Why? It is very simple…

JESUS CHRIST forgave us for OUR SINS, and he expects us to forgive those who hurt us as well. We are to follow His example.

I have been hurt, very hurt by people who I have given my everything to, all my trust and love totally surrendered to them, but people have failed and hurt me. I have come to understand something very important, people WILL FAIL and people WILL HURT US. Why?, because they are human. My Husband will fail, my best friend, and even my father are capable of hurting me. We are all humans capable of hurting and failing each other, and that is why it is so important to FORGIVE.

In Matthew 6 Jesus teaches the disciples and all his followers how we should pray. In that prayer he includes this verse:

Forgive our sins, just as we have forgiven those who did wrong to us”.

He included this and many other examples in the bible to teach us that if we desire for God to forgive us, we must forgive those who wrong us. True love forgives. Jesus was nailed to a cross for OUR sins, WE nailed him to that cross, and yet He forgave us, he CHOSE to DIE for us. What a beautiful demonstration of love and forgiveness we have through Jesus.

Today I challenge you to think about everything Jesus has so eagerly forgiven you, and ask the Holy Spirit to show you if there is anyone you are to forgive or if you even have to accept God’s forgiveness in your life. Once you take the step of being obedient to forgive and doing what God is placing in your heart to do, I am very sure you will be able to move forward in peace and the blessings God has for you.

Bible Scriptures talking about forgiveness:

  • For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Matthew 6:14-15 NIV
  • “This, then, is how you should pray: ” ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. ‘For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Matthew 6:9-15 NIV
  • And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. ” Matthew 11:25 NIV
  • “Come now, let us reason together,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” Isaiah 1:18 NIV
  • If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 NIV
  • Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, when someone won’t stop doing wrong to me, how many times must I forgive them? Seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, you must forgive them more than seven times. You must continue to forgive them even if they do wrong to you seventy-seven times. Matthew 18:21-22

Miami Adventures pt. 1

MIAMI, Florida my beautiful city, I am always mesmerized by the beauty so freely exposed to your inhabitants daily.

Today we decided to indulge a bit in one of the many gifts God has given us, (his creation), and we headed over to the beach. It was a beautiful day although towards the end it did rain, but even the rain brought adventure and relaxation at the same time to our day. My husband and his best friend enjoyed some skimboarding while my lovely friend and I relaxed and tanned.

photo 20150425_153000.jpgThe “spot” we visited today is located in Hallandale, Beach. My husband loves taking me there because there are not that many people, it is calm, family friendly, and we ALWAYS find parking, which is a huge plus in our busy city.

photo 2015-04-25 03.43.45 1.jpgBelow are some pictures of South Beach from about 2 weeks ago. South beach is better to visit when you want to enjoy dining out by the ocean, treating yourself to a spa, riding around in a scooter or bicycle, maybe even catching a famous actor or actress strolling by. It is one of the top places to visit if you are on vacation or even if you want to splurge on a “staycation”.

There is so much to do in our city but my absolute favorite treasure about Miami is its beaches. When I want to get away, I love to go sit by the ocean to listen to the waves and lose myself in the skies.

Have you treated yourself lately? What do you like to do to relax, have fun, or get away from the fast paced world we are living in?

Remember, the Lord has freely given us his peace, joy, and wonderful creation so we can enjoy it with loved ones and with others!

Before I finish, I had to share this amazing burger joint in Hallandale Beach called Burgerfi. Their burgers are made with natural Black Angus beef, and they make everything fresh and at the moment. I had their house burger which had a “special sauce” they make with 15 different ingredients. It was DELICIOUS.

If you are ever in the area stop by and enjoy, I totally recommend it. If you are interested in more information about them visit their website at

Engagement Story and Photos

 photo 2015-03-28 05.48.42 1.jpg

Our Spot ❤

So tonight in honor of “Marriage Mondays”, I am going to be talking a little about my engagement story. I realize I am pretty late and it is almost Tuesday but, hey, I am still going to be faithful to Monday 🙂

The “Story”:

My husband proposed on a beautiful Saturday morning by the ocean. We had been dating or better yet courting for a year and had already discussed marriage. He caught me completely off guard and I did not expect him to propose at all. That morning he woke me up, and drove me to a Starbucks first, because let’s face it I am not a morning person at all. He knew coffee would cheer me up and wake me up a bit. He had told me we were going to the beach, so I was excited because I LOVE the beach. He drove around and I did not recognize where we were or what “beach” we were going to, but I am not the best with directions neither so I did not suspect. We pulled up to a bay side where we could see the Miami skyline. It was breath taking. He then told me that he brought me there because in his previous job he used to drive there to spend time alone with God. He also told me to look at the water to try to find a reef that “looked like a man.” I looked and looked and could not find this “reef”, and as I turned around to tell him I could not find it, there he was, down on one knee. Wow!, no words can describe that moment, that feeling, and how amazing it was to hear my husband say, “would you do me the honor of being my wife?” I was so nervous and in shock that I said “no way” like 5 times because I was just so excited, and Adrian was a bit scared I was saying no, but as soon as I recollected myself I said “YES!”

I believe that moment was preordained by God the Father in advance. You see I actually feel like God revealed it to me during our relationship. Adrian and I did not grow up as Christians. We did not know we could have a RELATIONSHIP with God, instead, we only really knew “religion”. One day while celebrating what I believe was my 24th or 25th birthday, a dear friend of mine who was meeting Adrian for the first time told me she remembered meeting him years ago while we were at “Ultra Music Festival”. She immediately sent me a picture of that day in which I was with a group of old friends, an ex-boyfriend and, Adrian (my husband now) was standing right next to me. We had supposedly met that day years ago but I do not have any recollection of ever meeting him. I believe God did not allow us to remember meeting each other in those times because he knew we would end up together. I believe God knew we were not ready, we were lost, and there was still so much that he desired to do in our lives. He first needed to bring us into a relationship with himself before we could ever begin a relationship of our own. I am still so amazed with the way that God takes our history with all our sin and mistakes and turns it into a beautiful LOVE story. I am so thankful to God every day for the fact that he continues to mold and shape my life and my husband’s life to bring Him honor and glory.

May you find hope in His plans for your life and may you never forget that he is still writing your story. Trust Him, Follow Him, and in the end it will all be so unimaginably beautiful.

Here are a few pictures of our engagement shoot. We took them in a coffee shop and a university library and it was so much fun. The photographers are “Branded by Jorge and Febe” and they are also husband and wife and very talented.

We all have a History

Welcome those who are weak in faith, but do not argue with them about their personal opinions. Some people’s faith allows them to eat anything, but the person who is weak in the faith eats only vegetables. The person who will eat anything is not to despise the one who doesn’t; while the one who eats only vegetables is not to pass judgment on the one who will eat anything; for God has accepted that person. Who are you to judge the servants of someone else? It is their own Master who will decide whether they succeed or fail. And they will succeed, because the Lord is able to make them succeed. Romans 14: 1-4 GNT

Each and every person we encounter daily has a history, a past, and a present they are dealing with. We all encounter problems, disease, grief, happiness, loss of a loved one, abuse, exhaustion, love, and well, LIFE. I love that God talks about welcoming believers and non believers with open arms, without presuming and passing judgement upon them. I believe this is something that happens too often in the world and even amongst Christians. I know I am guilty of assuming and judging people on the things they do, or do not do at times, and as faithful as God is he gently shows me it is wrong. As believers, children, and followers of Jesus we are to act and do as he did. Jesus ate with sinners, and tax collectors. He did not come to condemn, judge or make people feel bad. Instead, he looked beyond our sin and saw our heartsour needs.

This past week I was reminded of this beautiful truth: Grace is undeserved favor. We did not earn grace, forgiveness, or salvation. Instead, Christ loved us while we were still sinners. He chose the most painful death and humiliation so that we could have a relationship and eternal life with Him.

I simply wanted to challenge and remind believers and anyone reading this, to look beyond people’s exterior, and think about their heart. Many are motherless or fatherless, there are young children loosing a parent to cancer, mothers who are exhausted and need words of encouragement, homeless people on the streets that are hungry and cold, and we are all fighting battles that would be less painful if we as a human race would help and lift each other up.

I also wanted to challenge Christians everywhere to accept other believers as they are. We are all running a race set out for us by the author and finisher of our faith, but we may have pit stops along the way. Pit stops ordained by God to mold and shape us to be the people he calls us to be. A new believer may still believe it is acceptable to dress in a certain way, to smoke, drink alcohol, or go “partying”, but it is not up to US to tell them what to do or stop doing, ONLY GOD can do that. The Holy Spirit works differently in all of us according to God’s perfect plan and timing for our lives.

If there are corrections to be made or manners to be learned, God can handle that without your help”. Romans 14:4 MSG

The Lord uses even our sins and our mistakes and turns them into beautiful testimonies that can help those who are still struggling with the same issues we struggled with. God turns our history into HIS story.  As mentioned in the Bible in Romans 14, in the end we are all going to “end up kneeling side by side” facing God as he judges our works. We are all EQUALLY loved at the cross.

Therefore, I have come up with some simple reminders and actions that we as believers can take to reach out to those God allows to come into our lives. There is a reason why we cross paths with many souls daily!

How to Cultivate Good and Better Relationships:

1. Welcome and be hospitable to everyone

2. Be gentle

3. Listen more, talk less 😉

4. Challenge them to grown closer to God and serve

5. Be generous with your time, be involved in their lives

7. Pray for them

8. Truth with Grace always (if someone is in sin, talk to them about it with grace, never condemn)

9. Call, text, email those who have been “out of touch” (absent from church, bible study, work…)

10. Love as Christ loves ( ask Him to help you, and he will)

Love you all,
